A lot of viewers did not feel like they could relate to the content because the people acting in talk shows, news, Tv series, etc. were not representing the diversity of the audience. Additionally, new legislation was upcoming which supported several quotas of diversity within public broadcasting. It was not possible to analyze diversity without a lot of manual work. The solution The solution was to use the automated analysis tool "Diversity Dashboard" where content is being fed daily to algorithms The Diversity Dashboard enables media companies to track the diversity in their content on a daily basis and over time. The dashboard is analyzing media files overnight and providing results such as speaking time and screen presence of the binary genders, distribution over different age groups and the smile factor is being fed daily to algorithms that can classify different diversity measures. Before There was no way to find out how the diverticity is structured. The customer didn't know anything about the diversity in the media content. It was also very hard to keep up with younger target groups. Afterwards Now it is possible to deduce how often and in which segment diversity is taken into account. On the basis of factual figures, it is also possible to see what the exact progress is. So the customer has a user friendly product to monitor and analyse the diversity in their content over time and is more mature to implement content changes that will fit the future audiences needs. The dashboard needs to be fed with media content from the customer to be able to provide insights. This has been improved and the onboarding time for a trial account is now just a couple of hours. For a subscription the time differs from the customers' requests of customized filtering categories and features.
